CURTISS: Just to get better. We have to see improvement. That’s key for us right now. I want to see us improving.
RN-T: How do you hope to improve on last year’s success?
CURTISS: Well, last year we made it (to the playoffs) more because of our schedule. Our thing this year is, I want us to win the close ball games. I’d like to make the playoffs and know that I made it because we’re supposed to be there. Even if we didn’t make the playoffs, but we played better, I’d be happy.
RN-T: What obstacles does your team face?
CURTISS: For us, the big thing is depth. We’ve got about 30 kids, (and) we’re younger. We had some seniors leave.
Key factor to the Lions’ success:
Coach Curtiss said his team needs to work on becoming fundamentally better. “For us to do that … if we just take steps on our offensive line, defense and tackling, we’ll make huge
improvements.”
