The Region 7-AA girls track tournamet got under way at Darlington on Monday and will conclude today at the same site.

Darlington coach Mitch Jordan said his girls are in a good spot for success in today’s events.

“We’re in great shape,” he said. “But you never know who’s going to show up in the finals.

Most of Monday’s events were preliminaries, with only a few events being finals.

Darlington will be out in front in three events today — the 4-100 meter relay, the 400 meter dash and the 3200 meter run. Tiffany Perry had a time of 1:02.87 in the 400 meter and Lucy Izard placed a time of 12:34 in the 3200 meter run.
